Important June dates

This June report has little new to add about '80 years ago' in Saskatchewan. We can assume that Emil and Adolina were working hard in rural Saskatchewan during this their first full month in Canada. These June dates reflect important and interesting milestones in the lives of Emil and Adolina and their descendants.
June 4 - On this date in 1946, Emil left for Ontario to visit the Joe Emrich family that had moved to Ontario. This visit led to another big change for the Neumann family
June 5 - Linda Mercer (nee Neumann) was born in 1937; she was the daughter of Emil and Adolina. Also on this date in 1946, Willie N. was injured in a sensitive place. To see more details check the calendar at http://calendar.yahoo.ca/emilsdecision@rogers.com
June 12 - Helen (Lena) Sterligow (nee Kasper) got her permit to leave Germany for Canada in 1948. In 1969 she became Emil's fifth wife.
June 16 - Pentacost Sunday in 1930, Emil attended the Lutheran Church and was moved by the Holy Spirit. This event greatly influenced his life.
June 19 - In 1946, Emil returned to Ville St Laurent from his visit to southern Ontario; he then heard about Willie's injury (see calendar for details). He also informed the family that we would all be moving to Ontario - because there was good farmland there.
June 21 - In 1916, Emil was confirmed in a Lutheran Church in Russia. He was 15 years old.
June 24 - On this date in 1994, Lara (Emil's grandaughter) married her husband, Dan
June 25 - Lara & Dan's wedding reception was held in a back garden tent at her parent's house on Erie Av. Also on this date in 1960, Janet Huculak (nee Amos was born). She is married to David H., Emil's grandson.
June 28 - Anthony Zehr, wife of Lois (Emil's grandaughter) was born in British Columbia in 1995.
